Knitting Kit Terms & Conditions
Updated as at 20 July 2025
Who can receive a kit:
Knitting kits are available for carers and their loved ones living with dementia in Aotearoa New Zealand who have registered with the Nanny Raiha Charitable Trust.
What’s included:
Each kit contains knitting needles, yarn, a simple blanket pattern, and a pre-paid return bag so you can send the finished blanket back to us.
-
How it works:
Once your blanket is complete, please return it to us using the postage-paid bag provided. We will check, patch (if needed), and prepare the blanket for gifting to a newborn baby in a New Zealand hospital. -
Ongoing support:
You are welcome to keep the needles. If you’d like to make another blanket, just get in touch and we can provide more yarn (while supplies last). -
Koha-based kaupapa:
Our knitting kits are provided at no cost thanks to donations and community support. We kindly ask that kits are used as intended — to support connection and purpose for those with dementia, and to create taonga for pēpi in need. -
Lost mail:
While we take every care in packing and sending our kits, we are not responsible for any items that are lost or delayed in the post, either on the way to you or on return to us. We recommend keeping a record of your tracking number when returning your blanket. -
Limited availability:
Kits are limited and subject to availability. We may prioritise first-time knitters or regions where need is high.
